Day 7 - Peter's Mother-in-Law

When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever. He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him.” - Matthew 8:14-15 NASB

With a touch Jesus healed. Close your eyes and imagine the touch of Jesus! Wow! She didn’t have days of recovery like we do following the flu or other illnesses; she got up and served Jesus!

So how can we serve as we heal and after we heal. Remember being in prayer with thanksgiving and praise to God is a form of service. Praying on behalf of others is a service. My aunt Bernice lived to be 101 years of age. Towards the end she was unable to make quilts, lap robes and other items. She was bedridden and confided to her Pastor that she felt useless. Her Pastor replied that she could still pray! This Pastor recognized prayer as a useful and powerful service.

As we heal we can spend time with our Lord, meditate on worship songs and scripture, possibly send encouraging notes to others, and, we can pray!
